Brunch. So much more than the world’s most popular portmanteau, brunch has become a state of mind. Brunch is a vibe. It represents our time to plant our flag on the weekend. It’s about assembling our best crew and indulging in two meals at the same time. It’s a time for soaking up our Saturdays, and forgetting about those work deadlines. But sometimes we want to brunch hard, and then actually get back to those work deadlines. Fortunately, day drinking doesn’t have to blow the rest of the day.
With these zero alcohol drinks, you can still put your stamp on the weekend and brunch with your besties. They are perfect for pairing with your brunch food of choice, be it eggs benny, breakfast burrito, or tofu scramble. And they’ll leave you ready to conquer the rest of your Saturday.
Gin Bloody
First off, that classic brunch staple, the Bloody Mary. We make this gin bloody with Ritual Gin Alternative to make it zero proof. Just because it doesn’t have the alcohol doesn’t mean you need to hold back on the spice. And with no booze and a nice serving of tomato juice, this drink is pretty guilt-free. Shake up a batch for your friends and let the good times roll.

Sunrise and Shine
What else says brunch cocktail like a healthy dose of OJ? This is our riff on the tequila sunrise, which swaps in our tequila replacement for the hard stuff. This cocktail is perfect for a brunch out on the deck or patio, or to bring the sunshine to you. Tropical attire optional.
2 oz. Ritual Tequila Alternative
¾ cup orange juice

Orange slice, for garnish
Maraschino cherry

Bourbon Champagne Cocktail
Think of this like an upgraded mimosa. We substitute our zero proof bourbon for the bourbon, but you can keep the triple sec and champagne to make this low abv. Or mix and match as you please. Either way, this is a brunch cocktail that will keep the party going with your friends, but won’t completely wreck the rest of your weekend.
2 oz. Whiskey Alternative
1/2 oz. orange juice (low abv: triple sec)
4 dashes bitters
4 oz. sparkling cider (low abv: champagne)
Orange twist for garnish
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine Whiskey Alternative and orange juice. Shake gently. Strain into a champagne flute. Top with bitters, then sparkling cider. Garnish with an orange twist.
