Rum and Coffee
Some of the same regions produce both world-class rum and world-class coffee. Unsurprisingly, the two are enjoyed together, and make a terrific pair. For this non-alcoholic version, we recommend pairing a strong coffee (ideally espresso) with our Rum Alternative. The roasted, caramel qualities of the two play off each other beautifully, while the coconut milk lifts the whole thing to another level. Be warned, once you try this magical mix, you might start adding non-alcoholic spirits to your daily brew.
1 ounce Ritual Rum Alternative
2 ½ ounces strong coffee or espresso, chilled
2 tsp granulated sugar
2 tbsp canned coconut milk
1 dash ground cinnamon
Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Open the canned coconut milk and whisk the liquids and solids together in a bowl, set aside. Pour the coffee and sugar in a measuring cup and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add the coffee/sugar mixture, coconut milk, Rum Alternative and cinnamon to a shaker with ice. Shake until cold and frosty. Pour into a tumbler with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
