Banana Simple Syrup Recipe

What on earth is simple syrup? Essentially, simple syrup is a liquid sweetener primarily made from dissolved sugar (or another sweetener) in water. Simple syrups can be used to sweeten and balance either  full proof or non-alcoholic cocktails.

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1 cup mashed ripe bananas

1 teaspoon banana extract

1 tablespoon lemon juice


Combine ingredients Heat syrup and bananas in a small saucepan for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in extract and lemon juice.
