Dinner Party Cocktails
Planning the perfect dinner party is no easy feat. First you have to invite the right group. Then pick a dish that will impress your friends but not involve hours of hard labor in the kitchen. You have to settle on the right music playlist; that bossa nova record sets a way different tone than A Tribe Called Quest. And perhaps most importantly of all, you must tie it all together with the perfect drink to serve your guests. And you don’t want to give them something that will leave them completely smashed by the end of the night. This is a dinner party after all. We recommend these zero proof cocktails; three different drinks with three different party vibes.
For the dinner party that is fun and laid back, we recommend a cocktail that is delicious without putting on any airs. A popular riff on the Moscow Mule, The Mexican Mule uses tequila instead of vodka, and we swap in our Tequila Alternative to make this zero proof. This drink is refreshing and tart and would go perfectly with a taco night.
2 oz. Ritual Tequila Alternative
1/2 oz. lime juice
4 oz. ginger beer
Lime wedges (garnish)
Fill a copper mug or tumbler with ice. Add all ingredients. Stir and garnish with lime wedges.
So you’re going for something a little fancier. Your guests are dressing to impress. You’ve been working on your culinary masterpiece, and you need a sophisticated drink to match. Try out this prohibition-era cocktail that has seen a resurgence in popularity. We make it using Ritual Gin Alternative instead of the gin, and you could make it low-abv by using green chartreuse and maraschino liqueur -- things your guests probably don’t see every day. Enjoy!
3/4 oz. Ritual Gin Alternative
3/4 oz. herbal syrup (low abv: green chartreuse)
3/4 oz. cherry juice (low abv: maraschino liqueur)
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
Maraschino cherry for garnish
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake shake shake. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Gin & Juice
There is no pretension here. The dinner part is mostly for show, and the main point of this gathering is to turn into a dance party. With an assist from your friend Snoop, this zero proof Gin & Juice with our gin substitute will get the party started, but won’t leave you hungover tomorrow.
2 oz. Ritual Gin Alternative
2 oz. orange juice
2 oz. pineapple juice
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake shake shake. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with an orange wheel.
